Christmas

Well as most of you know Christmas is always exciting in our house. My mother had 15 people living in her house for a week. Some times I was glad I could go home to my own house but most of the time I was jealous that I had to go home at night.
Harry really enjoyed and got to know his cousins, all 6 boys. He had been looking forward to meeting Shea for a long time and was not disappointed. Tyler, Jared, and Sawyer also performed well and fulfilled Harry's every expectation of his cousins. He has asked several time since if they could come over for a playdate. I told him maybe in a few months.

Santa gave each of the boys flashlights in thier stockings. So every night the boys played outside until well after dark chasing each other around and aroundthe house. Actually, I think the big boys were playing hide-n-seek but harry thought it was who can do the most laps. Harry was just excited to be one of the BIG BOYS abd be outside after dark. It is amazing he has been so scared of the dark lately and suddenly during Christmas it wasn't a factor.

We did have a chance to have a girls night out. My mother, 3 sisters, and I went to see Benjamin Buttons and then had dinner at Michael Fusco's on the River restuarant. Movie was decent, Dinner was EXCELLANT! It is always nice to go out with my sisters for bonding time. The boys went to laser tag, bowlin, and dinner at Olive Garden.

We also had a opportunity to have a family picture taken. Yes we got a family picture of Butch, Harry and I but also the whole Johnson clan, yes all 18 of us went to the mall at the same time and posed for a photo. AMAZINGLY, we had no crying children this year!

Merry Christamas!

Well I am really far behind on my blogging so please accept my deepest apologies!!!

Harry and I had so much fun making sugar cookies for his teachers. I had baught a box kit with "just add water" mis, cookies cutters, frosting, sprinkles, and food coloring. We were set!

Harry got his chair and pushed it over to counter to help. He poured the water in the mixing bowl and turned on the Kitchen Aid. Thank GOD for Kitchen Aids!!! Anyway...I realized at that moment that we didn't have a rolling pin. I was amazed, butch has been in the cooking business and loves to cook didn't have a rolling pin. I thought that was a gimme on your wedding day! He laughed and said we have lived in this house for over 4 years and this is the first time you have needed a rolling pin...maybe that is why we don't have one. Whatever?!?!? Thank GOD for neighbors, Jayne came to the rescue, she was coming over to deliver her Christmas card and save the 47 cents. Ok back to the story...We rolled, cut, and placed the cookies on the cookie sheet. Harry lost interested and thought playing in the water in the sink was more fun. He then decided the counter was dirty and poured a bowl of water from the sink on top of the dough I had just rolled out. I was just glad that I was close to my last set ofcookie cutting. We put the cookies into the oven and took a break...a break mommy much needed!

17 minutes later we were ready to decorate! We kneaded the frosting and colored it red, freen, and yellow. I know yellow was odd but Butch had found some old tim cookie cutters my mother had passed to me and one was a sun so Harry insisted on having a yellow sun. as you see in the pictures Harry loved his tongue turning green after munching on some of the broken cookies. We moved to the kitchen and started decorating. Hary enjoyed dumped the whole cup of sprinkles on the cookies and really thought it was funny that mommy scooped them up and out the sprinkles back in the bowl.

After we finished decorating, it wa bed time. in the morning we pack our red paper sacks with five cookies in each for his teachers past and present. Who would have thought that at the age of two who would already have had 10 teachers, a cafateria lady, and school director in your life. Anyway, sorry I digress....We delivered the cookies to each teacher in thier classroom. We, Harry & I, wore our Santa hats and Harry said "Merry Christmas!" usually as he tossed the bag and ran. Most of the teachers followed after him for a hug and said "OOHHHHH He is all grown up!"

Well, tomorrow night I will update you on Christmas!
